Some of our favorite family dishes have always been casseroles.  I remember my mom would make a casserole at least every week, sometimes it was something pretty basic like a tuna-mac casserole made with tuna, macaroni and cheese – not my favorite since I never enjoyed how the canned tuna tasted when it was warm. There were others I enjoyed much more, like her beef and potato casserole or even better, baked ziti with sausage.  I still make some of the same casseroles today for our growing family.
