It was one of those random impulses. Friends had great news to celebrate, and I ended up inviting over a large group of people for dinner. I only had a few hours to pull everything together. Everyone invited was a good friend and knew that it was a last minute party, but I still wanted everything to go well. Luckily, the grocery store was empty, the menu ingredients were available, and I was able to make everything fit into the oven and onto the stove top. Then it was time to serve. As I desperately ransacked my cabinets I had the horrifying realization that there was not a single ceramic serving bowl to be had, not to mention anything as exotic as a matched set. I put a brave smile on and served our dinner in a bizarre collection of dinnerware, cookware, and random other bowls. The next day I went shopping for a complete set of ceramic serving bowls and I found the bowls that I love!

I know that I’ll never be without the right kitchen serveware again!
